St. Matthew Baptist Church Leadership

St. Matthew Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev. Louis V. Alexander Sr.

Senior Pastor

Rev. L.V. Alexander Sr. was appointed to serve as St. Matthew Baptist Church's Senior Pastor [ Date ].

Rev. Alexander has been happily married for 45 Years to his wife, Sis. Marlene Alexander. They have four sons and two daughters.

The attributes that best describe Rev. Alexander as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like St. Matthew Baptist Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Rev Alexander  takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.

Pastor Alexander is Moderator Emeritus of the Friendship Baptist District Association. He served as Moderator for the past 9 years with 16 churches under his leadership, and  was the 1st Vice Moderator for 15 years before being elevated to Moderator.

He graduated from Dalworth High School in Grand Prairie, TX. He is also a graduate of Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas; Southern Bible Institute, Dallas, Texas; and Tyndale Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas.

Pastor Alexander has authored two books including: Good News on Sunday Morning, Thirty Days to Overcome (Meditations to the Way Forward).

Above all that he has accomplished he humbly acknowledges that nothing is greater than his love for God.
